In 2014, Team XPD Holland embarked on an epic Adventure Racing journey. Once a mere step outside our comfort zone, it has now become an all-consuming passion! The flame was ignited after our unforgettable debut in the 'XPD Australia' Expedition race of 2015, and since then, the adventure racing virus has gripped us tight. Captivated by the raw suffering, unwavering perseverance, unbreakable teamwork and the unparalleled euphoria this incredible sport offers.
Now, with Raid Lowlands, we aim to share our passion, creating a challenging course that appeals to experienced racers worldwide, while also introducing newcomers to the sport and inspiring youth recruitment. Join us on this extraordinary adventure where limits are shattered, boundaries are transcended, and the adventure racing virus takes hold, redefining what is possible.

RAID LOWLANDS 2025
Hi Raid Lowlanders,
It is with great pride that we look back on the organization of the 2024 European Championship Adventure Racing. A unique sporting event for the Netherlands and with 105 teams also worldwide an event not to be missed!
This event does not stand alone and cannot be seen separately from the previous two editions of Raid Lowlands. Editions where we gained organizational experience, where we had to pioneer, explain and sell the sport of adventure racing and where we took risks. We also can't separate it from our loyal group of volunteers, 90% of whom put heart and soul into the success of the event all three editions. But also not without you: the participating teams. 75% of the teams were also at the start of Raid Lowlands in one or both of the previous editions.
During the first edition we already told you that our goal is to spread the Adventure Race virus in the Netherlands and beyond. That we want to create a challenging course for both newbees as well as experienced adventure racers and that we want to give the feeling and experience of an international long-distance race. We hope you agree that we have succeeded in this!
Over the last few months we have been asked if Raid Lowlands will have a sequel and we have to answer this question twofold. Raid Lowlands is not on the ARWS European Series calendar in 2025 and with the past European Championships, the Raid Lowlands trilogy comes to a temporary end. We have great plans for a new, big and unique edition of Raid Lowlands, but this again requires a major investment of time, conviction and disclosure of the adventure race sport. This is where we are going to renew our commitment and we hope to inform you about it in the (near) future.
In the meantime, we do want to continue to invest in the recruitment of new adventure racing talent, which means a new edition of the parent-child race in 2025. This will take place on Saturday, September 13 in the Eindhoven region. More information on this will follow shortly.

In the coming period, we will be racing a lot more ourselves and putting our focus on this. Looking back on Raid Lowlands 2022-2024 with a bittersweet feeling, but also making very cool plans for the future. Stay tuned to our socials for this and remember: NEVER. GROW. UP.
